Galveston 150 AirRace
My friend Dean Siracusa of Flying Eyes Optics picked me and my son up from the San Marcos airport (KHYI) and we headed to Galveston (KLGS) for the Galveston 150 Air Race. It was my first time in a Meyers and I was very impressed with the Meyers 200 D. The controls were very direct and responsive with not a lot of input needed. It very much has a solid sports car like feel. After the race briefing we watched all of the racers take off. We followed behind and made a stop at one of my favorite airport restaurants, the Runway Cafe in Angleton, TX. It’s right on the field (KLBX) so you can walk right into the restaurant from the ramp. There are a few places like this, but they are not very numerous.
